As for me, when I hear the word "super," I always think of Romans 8:37:
"...in all these things we are more than conquerors [or superconquerors] through him that loved us."Super Bowl? Superconqueror! Superconqueror me, superconqueror you, superconquerors all who are born again!
I'm so blessed that I really do always think of that! It comes from years of remembering this verse in difficult times, of believing God's Word. Do you need strength in time of need?
The context here states, starting in verse 35:
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?"
That would cover a bad economy, lack of food, afflictions, danger, persecution.... Can anything separate us from the love of Christ?
It continues:
"As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.Talk about super! We are superconquerors because of what Jesus Christ accomplished for us.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors [or superconquerors] through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, now things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
When we are born again we receive holy spirit, power from on high. We have been redeemed and justified, and we can walk in newness of life, manifesting God's power and in fellowship with Him.
So no matter what life brings our way, we can rely on God and claim His deliverance according to His Word. Truly nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord, and we are SUPERCONQUERORS through Him who loved us!
(And that truly is so much better than the Super Bowl.)
