Fear Not!

"Fear not!" the angel said to Zacharias and to Mary and to Cornelius and to Paul. God Himself said, "Fear not I am with thee," to Isaac and to Israel. And the Lord said to Joshua, "Fear not, neither be thou dismayed."

On many occasions, Jesus Christ told individuals and groups to "fear not."

Clearly, God does not want His people to be afraid!

This world will throw endless things our way to cause us to be afraid--the latest news, bad turns in the economy, a multitude of diseases. Has anyone ever tried to make you afraid? Or have you ever been in a frightening situation?

The Bible tells us that "the fear of man brings a snare." Doubt, worry and fear can keep us from having God's best. And fear "has torment." Fear can ensnare or trap you. So rather than fear, we can choose to trust God and go to Him to supply all our need and to strengthen us with might by His spirit in the inner man.

Psalm 118:6 says: "The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?"

And Psalm 34:4 declares: "I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."

And in I John 4 we learn that "perfect love casts out fear."

Let's remember each day that God will never leave us nor forsake us and that He will supply all our need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. The fear of man brings a snare...so rather than be "snared," I will seek the Lord and He'll hear me and deliver me from all my fears!

We can trust in God and believe His promises, living without fear no matter what gets thrown our way.
